How to Make Marry Me Chicken

Step 1: Prepare the chicken

Slice the chicken breasts in half to make them thinner. Pat them dry with a paper towel and sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper.

Step 2: Cook the chicken

In a large skillet over medium high heat, heat 1 tablespoon of oil. Once hot, cook the chicken for 4 - 5 minutes on each side, until browned and cooked through. Cook in batches if needed. Remove and set aside.

Step 3: Add garlic & chicken broth

Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan. Once hot, add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth. Stir and scrape the bottom of the pan to remove any stuck brown bits.

Step 4: Make the sauce

Turn the heat to low and add the heavy cream and parmesan cheese. Simmer gently for 2 - 3 minutes, turning up the heat slightly needed. Stir frequently.

Step 5: Add seasonings

Stir in the seasonings: oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.

Step 7: Add chicken

Add the chicken back into the skillet and simmer for 3 - 4 minutes, until the sauce is thickened. Stir frequently and spoon the sauce over the chicken. For a thicker sauce, simmer for longer.

Step 8: Serve & enjoy!

Serve immediately, optionally over noodles and garnished with fresh chopped parsley.

Ingredient Notes

Red pepper flakes: this recipe has a mild spice level from the red pepper flakes. To make it even more mild, leave these out.

Sun dried tomatoes: be sure to use sun dried tomatoes that come in a small jar and are stored in oil. Don't use the ones that are salted and come in a bag.

Fresh basil: add some fresh flavor to your meal by sprinkling the chicken with fresh chopped basil before serving (this is a really tasty addition)!
