I found the original recipe that I based this Crock Pot Garlic Ranch Chicken off of in Gooseberry Patch’s What’s For Dinner. It was originally a marinade/grill recipe, but when I saw it, I knew I had to give it a try in my crock pot. The results were awe-some!

Table of Contents
Ingredients for Crock Pot Garlic Ranch Chicken
- 1 cup ranch dressing
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, minced
- 3-4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- Optional: additional minced fresh basil for sprinkling on top at time of serving
How to Make Garlic Ranch Chicken in a Crock Pot
Mix together your ranch dressing, minced garlic and minced fresh basil
Place your chicken in your crock pot
Pour your sauce over your chicken
Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3
Serve with the sauce spooned over the chicken and a sprinkling of fresh basil, if desired
Crock Pot Garlic Ranch Chicken Notes:
- If you don’t want to mince your garlic, you can chop it, but you will want to bump it up to 1.5 tablespoons instead of 1 tablespoon of minced garlic.
- I used myHamilton Beach Multi-Quart Slow Cookerfor this yummy Crock Pot Garlic Ranch Chicken on the 2 qt setting. I liked that I was able to place the chicken across the bottom of the slow cooker in one layer so it was all nicely covered in the sauce. If you don’t have a multi-quart slow cooker, use a 2-4 quart slow cooker. If I were to use a “normal’ one, I would put the first layer of chicken down, pour a little sauce over and then the next layer with the remaining sauce just to make sure everything had some of the yummy sauce.
- As with any of our recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
- All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and shouldalways be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

Love garlic and ranch!!! this sounds so good. What about using Cassie? Would that work or does it need a deeper crock to work?Reply
Aunt Lou says
Hi Barbara!I haven’t tried using Cassie for this recipe yet, but think she would work for it too. If you give it a try in her, let me know how it goes! Enjoy!

Rick-
So sorry your family did not enjoy this recipe. We always hate to hear that. But with over 500 recipes on the site, it is bound to happen because not everyone enjoys the same things. We have tested this recipe and it was enjoyed by our family so on this one we are just going to have to agree to disagree. I do hope you can find other yummy things on the site that your family can enjoy.Reply

This Crockpot Garlic Ranch Chicken is the first and only recipe I have ever tried on this web site I or my family didn’t like. It was easy, no dispute there, but it was awful. Only thing to help this recipe is to delete it in my opinion. It warrants no stars from me.

Hi Rick –One of the things I love about sharing recipes the most is hearing when someone really enjoys the recipe. I hate it when a recipe my family loves is not liked by others. I’m so sorry that was the case for you on this one. Michael, Ryder, Iyla and I loved it…there were barely any leftovers. I hope you continue to find other recipes (can you believe we have over 500 on the site now?!) that your family thoroughly enjoys!

Hi there,
Am going to try the basics of this recipe today.
Do not have dill, so am planning on using ranch, garlic, tarragon, and lemon pepper instead.
Enjoy your site very much.
We have experienced many good meals because of your work.
Thank youAunt Lou says
